These files may conflict with future installations. When you uninstall TS3 games on your Mac using the uninstaller, the game leaves behind stray files and isn't completely removed from your computer. If you were willing, I would recommend a clean uninstall and then reinstall everything via Origin, then you can be sure that you will no longer need any discs. It could be that there is a tiny scratch that is not obvious to the eye, or perhaps the game is just being temperamental.
Although you may have registered the games with Origin, unless you have completely removed the disc-requiring installation from your Mac and then downloaded them through Origin, the game will still expect a disc.
